Antenatal Class Package

You are best to start your Antenatal course when you are approx. 28-32 weeks' pregnant (depending on the length of the course). Choose the class starting closest to this.  These courses will be held at the Onslow Community Church


2022 Course Schedule

  • Mondays, 13th June to 11th July 2022, 6.15 to 9.15pm - FULL
  • Mondays, 25th July to 12th September (note there is no class on the 29th August), 7 to 9pm (due Oct)
  • Sundays, 25th September & 2nd October, 9.30am to 5.00pm (due Nov/Dec) - Held at Khandallah Town Hall (downstairs)
  • Mondays 7th November to 12th December, 6.45-9.15pm (due Jan)

Topics covered in the course include:

  • Life​ ​in​ ​late​ ​pregnancy
  • Preparation​ ​for​ ​labour
  • Signs​ ​and​ ​stages​ ​of​ ​labour
  • Pain​ ​relief​ ​and​ ​interventions
  • Relaxing​ ​and​ ​coping​ ​techniques
  • Breastfeeding
  • Coping​ ​with​ ​’life​ ​after​ ​birth’
  • Equipment​ ​for​ ​baby,​ ​and​ ​tips​ ​and​ ​tricks

This Antenatal package gives you a one year membership to Parents Centre. and once your Antenatal course is completed, we join you into an informal coffee group where you can choose to continue the connections.  

This includes:

  • You’ll also receive a gift bag with exciting goodies from our partners

We offer a 50% discount to Community Services Card holders so please make sure you check the box that you have a CSC card on the registration form.

First Aid for Babies and Toddlers

Mini First Aid is proud to team up with Wellington North Parents Centre to deliver First Aid for Babies and Toddlers.

This 2-hour course is packed with information and practical hands on learning, with handouts to take away with you. We have designed the course for parents and caregivers to develop their confidence and knowledge in dealing with their child in a medical emergency.

Our trainer has over 15 years’ experience as a paramedic and can relate the content to real life situations.

Topics include:

  • Paediatric Choking and CPR
  • Meningitis, Burns
  • Respiratory Illness
  • Head Injuries
  • Febrile Convulsions
  • Accidental Poisoning
  • Anatomical Differences between the age groups.

This course is held at Onslow Community Church, 4 Ngatoto St, Ngaio.
